Seeds for Tomorrow
Conceptual Studio
Programs: AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Midjourney, hand-drafting
Students created a speculative future in the conceptual studio based on Peter Frase’s book, Four Futures: Life after Capitalism. For this assignment, I built a society based Frase’s notion on Socialism where society is experiencing social equality but scarcity of resources. As a result of climate change, this society has migrated to higher altitudes and built a seed repository where they can gather to learn, store, and celebrate their seeds.
The architecture combines existing structures with natural and recycled updates, signifying the relationship between humans and nature. Twigs and recycled plastic provide structural support, protection, and display for their seed collection. By using abandoned materials, the community has created a space that invites light in and embraces their new future.
