1706 Rittenhouse is a residential apartment designed for a couple, Yohan and Antonino, who have decided to age in place in Philadelphia. The couple values time with family and friends, and they often host dinner parties celebrating their passion for wine and music. The concept for this residence is blending the couple’s Italian and Eritrean cultures through materiality and color to evoke a feeling of nostalgia. The resulting design creates a warm and cozy environment in an eclectic style by combining pieces from various periods, such as Art Deco, Neoclassical, and contemporary.
